Shooting for a sardines brand

When shooting for advertising, the lighting must be clean and the images sharp. I used a total of 5 studio lights in this shoot. The result is a well lit photo with rim lighting in both sides while maintaining the highlights and some shades on the face. I small light with soft box was used at the lower front as fill in instead of using a big reflector. This gave me more control over the detail and shadows under the face and on the clothing.

But why used 5 lights? Why not just one or two? Well, it depends on the design layout of the agency. Sometimes, you need to see it first and talk to the creative people how they want the lighting to be. In this case there was no design layout yet so a generic good for all background lighting style was used.
